Welcome to the Neuruppin Fontane Festival »Fontane is still a challenge – not least for his homeland, the former County of Ruppin. Fontane’s landscapes are an exploration of the human soul, with all its moments of happiness and dramatic turns of destiny. Composure must be maintained on the surface – but the depths of the soul, as Fontane conceives it, are seething. This affects us all – in fact it is more topical than it has ever been! So in 2010 an entire region is setting out to popularise the psychological and lyrical mastery of a great poet.
