Fontane-Preis

The Fontane Prize of the City of Neuruppin: a medal bearing the portrait and signature of Theodor Fontane. To mark the Fontane Festival the major Fontane Prize for Literature, which goes back to 1994, is being awarded with a new emphasis. The heart of Fontane’s work – his base as a travel writer and journalist – is now being thrown into greater relief.

 An independent jury of five distinguished authors, journalists and literary critics will decide from among your selection of works by successful authors and travel writers. The prize, which carries a value of 5000 euros, will be awarded on 21 May 2010 in the Pfarrkirche St. Marien in the presence of the Mayor of Neuruppin and the Chairman of Neuruppin’s municipal council.
